13 weeks and counting

On Monday 17th June i will kickstart my journey towards my first half marathon. As seen in the screenshot below i have a 13 week training plan, which now includes a 10 mile race at the end of week 2 due to signing up to Eccup 10. The half marathon will be my biggest running challenge to date, and one i am really looking forward to. Preparation will be key and sticking to the training plan, hopefully without any hiccups along the way (injuries etc).

The biggest challenge is doing a summer half marathon as opposed to a spring one, the weather we had last summer was hot, at the moment this year it could be easier as its just rainfall.

So my training is split into a number of parts, enough rest days and also adding some cross training (strength work, Swimming etc). I have also added where I am able to do a parkrun for my clubs parkrun league and countered that into the training miles. This is also there for a few changes. I even have a 11 mile route planned surprisingly.

I’m ready for the challenge.

Thanks for reading.
